Forensic Psychometric Testing

Originally developed for legal and investigative settings, a forensic psychometric test is a scientifically designed psychological assessment tool, administered and interpreted by a Certified Forensic Psychometrist.

Forensic psychometric testing goes beyond “surface-level” assessments to provide deep insights into cognitive abilities, emotional intelligence, personality traits, and behavioural tendencies.

The results offer a clear, data-driven profile of the individual but also a reflective tool for personal growth, decision-making, and leadership development.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from tests like Myers-Briggs, Enneagram, StrengthsFinder, or the Big Five?

Tests like Myers-Briggs and Enneagram are helpful for understanding preferences and patterns, and tools like StrengthsFinder highlight your natural talents. While popular assessments offer valuable frameworks, forensic psychometric tests provide significantly greater depth, scientific validity, and resistance to self-deception.

Forensic psychometrics reveal the underlying psychological dynamics that drive your behaviour across multiple dimensions simultaneously. Standard tests tell you what you prefer; forensic psychometrics reveal why you prefer it, what happens under stress, how you make decisions when stakes are high, and how those patterns play out in complex, real-world situations. They're also designed with validity scales that detect inconsistent responding or social desirability bias, making the results more accurate and less susceptible to conscious or unconscious self-presentation.

Is the testing confidential?

Absolutely. For individual assessments, results are shared only with you unless you explicitly authorise otherwise. For organisational assessments, individual reports remain confidential to the participant, while aggregated insights may be shared with the organisation only with clear, informed consent. Your privacy and psychological safety are paramount throughout the process..

Will this test diagnose me with something or label me?

No. Forensic psychometric testing is not diagnostic, it's developmental. This isn't about identifying disorders or differences, it's about understanding your unique psychological traits, how you process information, relate to others, and respond to your environment. The goal is insight and growth, to provide a fuller picture of your patterns and preferences. Think of it as a mirror reflecting back information you can use — not a box that limits you.

I'm neurodivergent (autistic/ADHD/dyslexic). Will this test be accurate for me?

Yes, and often especially valuable.  Forensic psychometric tests are designed to capture the full diversity of human psychology, not just neurotypical patterns. Many neurodivergent individuals find these assessments revelatory because they finally provide language for experiences that others may have misunderstood.

I approach assessment through a neurodiversity-affirming lens—recognising different neurotypes as variations, not deficits. If you have specific accommodations that help you perform at your best (extra time, breaks, alternative formats), we can absolutely arrange those. The goal is to understand your authentic profile, not to measure you against a neurotypical standard.

Can I fail or get a bad result?

There are no pass/fail outcomes—only insights. Every profile has strengths and growth areas; every pattern serves you in some contexts and may limit you in others. What might be considered a "weakness" in one setting could be your greatest asset in another.

The assessment reveals your natural tendencies and how they manifest across different situations. Even challenging findings are reframed as opportunities for development and self-understanding rather than judgments of your worth or capability.

How long does the process take?

Assessment completion typically takes 2-3 hours, which can be done in one sitting or broken into shorter sessions. Results analysis requires 2 weeks, followed by a comprehensive 2-hour feedback session. For succession planning, the full process typically spans 4-6 weeks from initial consultation to final reporting..

What happens after the assessment?

You receive a detailed written report with personalised development recommendations, and ongoing access to support (if required) as you implement your growth strategies.

Many clients find value in periodic reassessment (every 1-2 years) to track their development and identify new areas for growth. You're never left with just data—together, we will explore your results and translate them into practical insights for self-awareness, career development, or leadership growth.
